I would like to try this place again but earlier so I have a chance at hot donuts! I went after 11:00am which they have stopped cooking the donuts at that point. I had a glazed which was good, and a buttermilk which was a little to sweet in my opinion. The iced coffee was also to sweet for my taste, I should have asked for no sugar in the coffee. but overall it was good flavor. very small old rustic place but part of the charm I think. Like I said I would go again just earlier.

Was in town for Legoland and found this on Yelp. Was ok. Kind of a Hometown type of place.

The Cinnamon roll is amazing! I order 2 or 3 at a time. I would NEVER go to DD over Donut Man!

This place is a local institution. It's truly a dive in appearance but the donuts are SO much better than DD or ANY of the chains. They're fresh made and if you stop by in the early evening hours your odds are good of getting them warm. My family is a HUGE fan of Donut Man and the apple fritters in particular. If you're a lover of donuts this is the place for you. The iced coffee is great, too. Nothing tops the plain old glazed if you ask me but the apple fritter is a close second, particularly when warm. This is a reasonably priced family owned business that doesn't dissapoint. Stop by....you'll be glad you did.

Absolutely love this place. The best donuts I've ever had!! My family and I visit Orlando every year and now, rather than taking I75 we take the "backroads" just to stop by this place. The atmosphere is homey, nice retired folk. I look forward to the summer just to visit. I find myself comparing every donut I eat to this place and THERE IS NO COMPARISON!! It's the best trip you will ever make. DD or Crispy Creme can't hold a candle to this "little shop of donut heaven".

Such an awesome little home town shop with delicious donuts! They are fast and fresh and a very friendly family owns it. The apple fritters and sour cream donuts are my favorite!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! Don't be discouraged by the looks of the place. The apple fritters are a must have and the donuts are way better than Dunkin Donuts.

Love this place. When traveling, I prefer to patronize local businesses, so despite my New Englandy bias towards the big DD, I was happy to find a local donut shop in Winter Haven, with major bonus points for the name "Donut Man" and excellent vintage signage. This place is the real deal. Come in, sit down at the shabby, worn counters, and enjoy chatting with the locals (ie: retired folks). Grab a somewhat watered down cup of coffee, but this place is really about the donuts, and the refills are free after all. As far as I could surmise, the place is run by a husband and wife (I'm just making this up because it was a man and a woman who seemed to be of similar age). And true to form, the man was in fact cooking the donuts (Donut Man). They seem to have somehow snagged random pieces of signage from Dunkin', the soda fountain is busted, and some of the bar stools are missing, but who cares, the donuts are AMAZING. My dad was over the moon that they had French crullers (Dunkin' seems to have stopped making them), and my parents both love Boston cream, while I had a chocolate frosted risen and split a chocolate glazed cake with my mom. The risen donuts were amazing...fluffy and light and tasty, and made me wish I'd ordered a glazed one too. The cake didn't disappoint either...moist and flavorful. I have no idea when the next time I'll be in Winter Haven will be (if ever), but if I am back, Donut Man will be first on my list of eating establishments to stop at. Unless you're looking for something healthier or a jumbo iced coffee, go here, get your donuts, and you won't regret it.

Why did it take me so long to try this place?? The outside is a bit sketchy and I didn't go inside so I can't comment on that. Sketchy or not, this place knows how to make some delicious donuts! We tried raised, blueberry cake (SOO good!) and apple fritters. I can't wait to go back!

What a gem! Every time I come here, their donuts are always fresh and sweet to perfection. My favorites are the blueberry cake, crossaint/cronut(!!), and the plain glaze. I am always blown away by how they are able to make every donut so airy and fluffy. I'm so thankful my home parish, St. Joseph Cath. Church, serves Donut Man donuts after Mass. Even so, I always make an effort to stop by Donut Man every time I am in Winter Haven!

Yummy! The smell alone was amazing! I ordered a variety of flavors that were all tasty. My favorite was the sour cream cake donut. I would love to give them 5 stars but let's face it, the building isn't to my standard. Plus, the female that took my order was kind of impatient with me. Customer service is a big deal to me. I'll pay them another visit when I feel like like eating unhealthy ;)

From the outside, it looks a bit sketchy (we just used the drive through), but wow we're the donuts fantastic! We aren't in this area too often so when we saw it come up as a favorite for locals, we decided to grab some glazed donuts after dinner. Even after the 30+ min drive home they were amazing! The texture and softness of the donut was not what I was expecting! Our local donut place doesn't have donuts this soft and I would venture to say that this is definitely a favorite for me now! I saw that they had a bunch of different varieties of donuts, but when we're just giving a place a first shot, we go with what we know and I've got to say that we will be going back the next time we're in Winter Haven! So delicious!

Home made donuts, not from a chain, are always the best. I think it has to do with the level of care that is put into them, or the fact that they aren't mass produced! Or it could also be the fact that they are cheaper. :)

BEST. DONUTS. EVER. EVER. I should just leave it at that, but it wouldn't do them justice. My family has been frequenting Donut Man FOREVER; my grandfather used to take me there every Sunday and my mom used to give their donut holes as an after-school snack. Seriously, I used to skip class just to go here. And I never skipped class for anything. Donut Man's donuts are light and fluffy (They're so fluffy, I'm gonna die!!!) and worth every calorie. My personal favorites are the raspberry jelly donuts covered in powdered sugar; I think I once ate a dozen in one sitting, and I didn't even regret it. :P But every donut I've eaten from there is memorable and delicious. From the outside, Donut Man doesn't really look that great compared to DD or any other chain store; but that's part of it's charm. It's a two (sometimes three) person operation. The counters are worn, the bar stools are weathered by many a bottom, and the outside can look pretty sketch; but the coffee is never-ending, the people are friendly (everyone: locals and owners), and the donuts are glorious. And, oh so affordable! I think a dozen donuts is under $10. Probably less, my memory is terrible when it comes to numbers. Definitely come in or drive through and get a taste of heaven. I know I will the next time I stop in Winter Haven.

From the outside this place looks like something from the 70s .. We stopped just cause we had to see what it was like .. The man inside was VERY friendly .. He made a fresh pot of coffee for my husband and told us even if there flavor donut we wanted wasn't there that he likely had it in the back .. (2) Bacon, (2) SourCream, and (2) Blueberry Cake found their way into our box .. YUM! VERY VERY sweet though! The man was also nice enough to top off my husbands to-go cup when he found out he took it black and didn't need the extra room in the cup .. EXCELLENT experience .. Not sure if he was the owner, but he seemed to really take pride in the little donut shop :)

Eh, We chose this place over the local Dunkin Donuts as it's privately owned, but honestly, Dunkin is 200% cleaner inside and the donuts in Dunkin are rotated constantly for fresh ones. The donuts in Donut Man looked old, all their signage is falling off the walls, this place is pretty rough inside and out. I purchased a croissant breakfast sandwich. Pretty greasy as expected, but decent for what it is. The Donuts themselves are pretty good. I'd equate my experience to a "Waffle House" of donut shops. Both in quality and cleanliness.

Best donuts in town! The fritters and glazed donuts are my favorites. I used to ride bikes with my brother & his family here on Saturday mornings all the way from Lake Alfred- it was always worth every turn of the pedals.
